6/1/2016, WAOW Wausau (video) – Local government officials and community members met Wednesday to talk transportation woes.

The “Just Fix It” regional meeting was at the Central Wisconsin Airport.

The purpose of the event was to have a discussion with community leaders about how transportation impacts the area and businesses.

People spoke about safety and economic concerns dealing with local roadways.

“At the state level we’ve been able to come to a consensus on how to fix our transportation system and fund it. And last time around the legislators said we need to have these conversations back in the communities, so that’s really what we’re trying to do,” said Craig Thompson, the executive director for the Transportation Development Association.

This was the sixth regional meeting of this kind.
